As I have been booked up to attend d.Construct for well over a month now I think its about time that I actually said something about it. In a nutshell I am rather excited. I have always been a fan of coding up things (mainly because I can’t design for toffee) and all the recent developments in the web gets me really excited and ehtused as to what may well be possible in a number of years (if not months if Yahoo! have anything to say about it) over the web and a with a web browser and this is essentually what d.Construct is going to be about - a bunch of technically minded people talking code, talking web and in my case probably talking a load of bollocks!

The speakers they have lined up are awesome and I’m going to be interested in hearing what they have to say - I am likely going to be rather confused as I will admit to getting rather worried when coding nowadays due to a lack of support or similar knowledge in my department but I’m hoping that this may give me the motivational kick up the baskside I need and regain my confidence. I’m interested to hear Aral Balkin talk Flash (I was originally a big time Flash guy but I got bored of it when I heard about Web Standards) and after hearing Jeffrey Veen talking at @media I think he could talk about snooker and make it sound interesting!

Its all being run again in Brighton which means a nice trip to the beach for me - I have been told that maybe there is to be a crazy golf tournament which I am determined to win (I can’t play golf sober but maybe a few cans will settle my nerve) and I also am going to try and get to the “soul food shack” and sample some good old fashioned deep south food (I had planned on going to New Orleans this year but the hurricane ruined that plan :<) - if anyone wants to join me we can arrange a group booking if you get in touch. I will also be able to meet up with an old friend (who unfortunalty couldn’t put me up for free :<) which will always be nice - thankfully I did manage to book a hotel so I won't need to sleep on the beach!

It's les than one month away now - the excitement is building!
