Proud

Old content alert!

Thanks very much for visiting my blog. Always happy to have people read my stuff but just thought I should point out this post is years old. If it's about technical stuff there is a possibility that it is no longer relevant, if it's a bug report/fix I'm hoping that it should now have been fixed.

Of course if this is what you're looking for and it does work then great, just don't say I didn't warn you...

In the upcoming months I will be starting a new, moving to a new job in a new company (more details to come soon) and hopefully leaving behind a large number of demons that are with me whenever I enter my current office.

Yeah, for once in my professional life I think I can say that I am about to become proud!

But proud of what???

‘Proudness’ for me has been some what of a struggle but the more and more I think about it there are loads of things that I can indeed be (and more importantly SHOULD BE) proud of.

I am proud of my friends, I am proud of my skills and right now I am proud of me!

My friends have been helping me out with tons of stuff recently; from kicking my CV into shape, kicking me into shape and reasoning with me about the options which I now have being just a few which spring into mind – thanks very much guys!

I have always been worried that my skills may not be up to the level that I want them to be but more importantly may not be as good as other think they are. With all the interviews I have been receiving, phone calls from agents and job offers I have been getting this is clearly not the case!

And finally I am feeling good that I have weathered the storm that has been my recent life and come through the other end smiling, in one piece and with enough to the tank to take me on to the next stage- well done me!

More food, more beer and more rants (with the addition of more informative posts coming up again soon!!)

As a bit of an aside it seems that I am not the only person who is currently “proud” of things that have been going on in their working life. My mate Neil Crosby has also been a busy bee and redeveloped the search experience for Yahoo! Eurosport – very good stuff indeed and certainly another good reason to be proud! But please take with a pinch of salt his comment about me asking him to write about it, he was about to steal my idea of a blog post and has just tried to make it seem better – the wily old fox that he is ;>

Amen, brother. May this open the door for you to express yourself professionally!

To be fair, it was only the title I was going to steal, and that was only because I didn’t have one yet! Really glad that things are going well for you mate.
