Hawksmoor – eaten and reviewed

Steaks! You either love them or you hate them but at times you just need to have one. A nice medium rare steak, cut with a nice big steak knife always makes me think I am a caveman, eating my catch and enjoying it (though thankfully for everyone involved with more clothes and less hair). Hawksmoor has received much praise in my restaurant bible (TimeOut), being called not only the second best steak restaurant in London but also the second best bar. Dragon Castle – eaten and reviewed

Local restaurants are a thing that I base my judgement of an area on – the more the better. Of course living in Elephant and Castle means I don’t really have many any of them that I would go to confidently though of course I’m always ready to try most things! I was therefore very interested to hear that a new, rather grand looking Chinese restaurant had opened up and it was causing quite a stir with glowing reviews from what seemed like everyone to go there – it went on the list and last week I went there! standards DO help SEO – proof?!

Back in the old days when we were pushing for the adaption of web standards one of the key arguments for it was the boost it would provide to your search engine rankings due to, amongst other things, the correct usage of headings and having the key content closer to the top of the document alowing the search engine spiders to get at it quickly.

I have never seen THAT much concrete proof of this being 100% true until just this morning when doing a few web searches for restaurants I have been to and reviewed. Read more

Bentley’s – eaten and reviewed

You say that the free London papers are good for nothing then you actually find something useful in them; as I did when I found out about London Restaurant week – £25 for a three course meal sounds like a bargain and a good way to sample what would normally be an expensive restaurant in my book.
