Once in a while everyone should give himself or herself a little treat. With it being my birthday (20th July for anyone interested for next year) I though the time was right for one of my little treats by heading off to my favourite restaurant, Benares in Berkeley Square.
Since my last visit (same time last year) the restaurant has achieved a Michelin star; I would like to think my review from last year helped it on its way, there is no evidence to prove for or against this argument so Iâ€™m going to stick with it. Would gaining this award (the second of head chef Atul Kochharâ€™s career) have lead to complacency?!?! Read more
With a rather expensive Christmas behind me and an equally expensive shopping trip planned (in the good old new years sales) I was thinking about the best way to continue with my journey. It was cold; I was a bit stressed from all the people on the streets so really it had to be another curry! Everyone loves a good curry (at least that is what I would like to think as I certainly do and I believe that I have rather good taste) so I popped down to Chelsea to see if their restaurants would be as good as their location and the decadence of many of the houses down there. This indeed gave the impression of the ‘local’ curry house but with of course extra style and without that oh so often dodgy stomach afterwards! Read more
After having indulged my work colleagues to an awesome cake a few days earlier I thought it was high time that I actually treated myself to something – it was my birthday of cause!
I decided to book a table at a restaurant I have had my eye on since seeing the head chef on “The Great British Menu” and having also sampled their food at the Taste of London festival. I booked up, got looking nice and clean and tidy (and in my opinion pretty damb fine) and headed off to Berkley Square to Benares restaurant. Read more
