Hawksmoor – eaten and reviewed

Steaks! You either love them or you hate them but at times you just need to have one. A nice medium rare steak, cut with a nice big steak knife always makes me think I am a caveman, eating my catch and enjoying it (though thankfully for everyone involved with more clothes and less hair). Hawksmoor has received much praise in my restaurant bible (TimeOut), being called not only the second best steak restaurant in London but also the second best bar. Champor-Champor – eaten and reviewed

Trying to avoid the tempation for another Indian stye, curry for three months in a row I decided that I could temper my curry fest by switching continents and heading off to Thailand for the delights of Champor-Champor. First things first I have no idea how I got the idea that this was a Thai restaurant because it isn’t! Instead the food was described as Malay (which seems to be a grab bag of all southern Asian food) and while spicey is much more than just curry! Read more

With a rather expensive Christmas behind me and an equally expensive shopping trip planned (in the good old new years sales) I was thinking about the best way to continue with my journey. It was cold; I was a bit stressed from all the people on the streets so really it had to be another curry! Everyone loves a good curry (at least that is what I would like to think as I certainly do and I believe that I have rather good taste) so I popped down to Chelsea to see if their restaurants would be as good as their location and the decadence of many of the houses down there.
